We've been doing this for 14 years. We still love it.

Founded in November 2012 by Bryan Lee, a creative-tech engineer who started Instamedia after one frustrated event in KL where every booth on the floor looked identical. Today we're a full-stack team of designers, developers, fabricators, AI engineers and activation crew, all under one roof in Kuala Lumpur. From interactive tech to full-scale installations, every layer of the experience is engineered in-house, end-to-end.

How we got here

2012 • November

Founded Instamedia

Founded by Bryan Lee in Kuala Lumpur. Started with a home-based photo booth and grew into Malaysia's pioneer creative-tech studio for premium brand activations. From day one, the brief: make brands impossible to forget.

2021 • March

Launched Malaysia's 1st enclosed and high angle photo booth

Instabooth 2.0 launched as Malaysia's first fully-enclosed photo booth with high-angle overhead capture and instant newspaper-style prints. Deployed across Suria KLCC, Pavilion KL, Sunway Pyramid and Mid Valley Megamall for premium brand activations. Set the new standard the industry now copies.

2023 • August

Nominated for ASTRO's Best AR Experience

Recognised by ASTRO for an AR brand activation against agency competitors across Southeast Asia. Validated our in-house AR engineering and IMX Engine™ technology platform. Marked Instamedia's shift from photo booth specialist to full creative-tech studio.

2025 • January

Introduced Malaysia's 1st AI Photo Booth and Smart Stamp Digital Journey

Launched Malaysia's first commercial AI photo booth with real-time generative AI character creation, branded portraits and instant WhatsApp delivery. Simultaneously rolled out the Smart Stamp Digital Journey gamification system for YSL beauty activations. Redefined audience engagement with AI-driven brand experiences.

2025 • June

Expanded Operations to Singapore

Scaled our brandtech approach across ASEAN. Singapore office opened June 2025 to serve premium brand teams across Southeast Asia. Deployments now span Malaysia, Singapore and a growing regional client base across beauty, fashion, banking, automotive and F&B.
